Issaquah Hillside

This is a custom home for a family who wanted to build their dream home in a traditional craftsmen style. It is located on a hillside with a view of Lake Sammamish. A rooftop deck was designed to take better advantage of the view, while maintaining privacy from the street. There are multiple decks for outdoor entertaining, with large glass sliding doors to bring light and view into the spaces. We are currently getting bids from contractors with construction to start soon.

Seattle Upper Floor Addition

The before and after photos of this home will be amazing! The homeowners want to add a second floor to their older plain looking Seattle home because of the tremendous view and need for additional space. The upper floor will be a new master suite with a large walk in closet and beautiful bath, a large separate sitting room with a view and fireplace, and a new office, all with a view. The Sitting room has a balcony off the rear side rather than a deck, making it more versatile. This space can be used as heated interior space all year, or open the glass wall doors and turn it into a covered deck in the summer. The main floor remodel will include a new large kitchen with a view (of course). A roof over the existing front porch was also added, where there wasn't one before. The plans are currently being drawn for construction estimates.

Kirkland Addition

The homeowners wanted to update the exterior and interior of their 1960's Lake Washington Home. We also added 2 bedrooms, a new front entry porch, new laundry, and a new covered deck with a pool. The whole house was also remodeled and updated throughout. The home was dark inside, so we designed transom windows to bring light deep into the greatroom. The contemporary design makes a dramatic improvement to the appearance of the home, while also improving the lifestyle of the family. The home is finished and photos will be coming soon!

This home is designed to take full advantage of the view of Puget Sound, by incorporating an open plan with large windows and transoms throughout. A roof top deck above the dining area provides a commanding view above the surrounding homes in the neighborhood. A home office is located in a separate and private area of the home, also with its own view and deck. The entry door is located on the upper floor, accessed by the grand stairs and trellis.

Lakefront Custom Home

This is a custom home for a retired couple, who were worried that their small site would force them to live in a smaller home than they would like. After extensive research and working with the county Land Use Department, we were able to maximize the allowed square footage of the home, all without the added time and expense of a variance. This is an example of using creative site planning and building design to achieve the necessary goals. One important design goal was to locate all of the living spaces on the main floor, and designate the upstairs for overnight guests and family. The downstairs is a rec room and a dorm style sleeping area for the grandchildren (and grown ups) when they visit. Being on lakefront property, half of the downstairs is a covered patio, making it an "outdoor room" for most of the year. The home is designed with "Aging In Place" features that will allow the homeowners to live in their home longer, and with comfort and safety. Construction is finished, and the clients love their new home. Final finished photos are coming soon!
